Cranberry Sauce
While there are many recipes for Cranberry Sauce out there, the goal of this recipe is to find a way to get some booze into the mix. So instead of using any water, sugar, or other liquid we’re going to add in some cider to ramp up the festivities!
For this version we chose a semi-sweet cranberry cider to bring out the cranberry flavors and to let the tart juice still have some bite. However, if you prefer a sweeter, less tart cranberry sauce you can use a sweeter cider. Likewise, if you want a super, cheek puckering sauce then use a dry flavored cider. The world is your oyster - or - Cider, I suppose.

Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes
Servings: 5
Ingredients
12 oz cranberries
2 cups spiced cranberry cider (I used cider from Goose Ridge)
1 large orange
12 cloves (~½ tsp)
1 cinnamon stick
Steps
Quarter the orange and poke 3 cloves into the rinds of each of the orange slices.
Add the cider, orange slices, and cinnamon stick to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once the cider mixture is boiling, allow to boil for 5 minutes, then lower the temperature and bring the cider mixture to a simmer.
Add the cranberries and mix. Simmer over medium-low heat for 15 minutes.
Remove from heat and pull out the orange slices and cinnamon stick.
Let cool completely (or refrigerate overnight) before serving.
